Service Description

When? 9.30am or 6.30pm 17th March (Choose the time that suits you best) If you can't attend live, I will send out the recording. Overview School librarians are often expected to deliver a steady stream of events, but more is not always better. The real challenge is knowing which events deserve your time and which do not. This focused session will help you become more selective, shifting from busy programming to intentional events that genuinely support literacy, elevate student voice, and strengthen your library’s role within the school. Drawing on proven practice and a clear planning approach, you will explore how to design fewer, better events, ones that create visible value for students and align with wider school priorities. Learning Objectives Participants will: Understand the difference between busy programming and purposeful events Learn a simple structure for planning events with clear intent Consider how library events can reinforce reading culture and school goals Identify practical ways to judge whether an event is worth sustaining By the end of this session, you will be able to: Make confident, strategic decisions about what to start, stop, or continue Plan events that justify the time and energy they require Focus your efforts on programming that delivers meaningful impact Approach library events with greater clarity, selectivity, and professional judgement To book this session, please click 'Book Now' and look for the 17th March.
