The Reflective Librarian
Defining, Driving and Demonstrating Your Learning
Service Description
When? 9.30am or 6.30pm 21st th May (Choose the time that suits you best) If you can't attend live, I will send out the recording. Overview: School librarians are constantly learning—but that learning is often invisible, informal, and disconnected from how schools recognise professional growth. This session focuses on making that learning more intentional, more impactful, and more visible. Participants will examine where their professional learning really comes from, how it influences their practice, and how it can be clearly demonstrated to colleagues. Through a structured reflection on where your knowledge comes from and how it connects with your school, the session will move beyond passive consumption towards active, purposeful development. Crucially, it will also explore how librarians can better align and position their learning within whole-school priorities—strengthening their role as educators and contributors to teaching and learning. This is a practical, reflective session designed to prompt honest evaluation and lead to small but meaningful changes in professional practice.
