Service Description

When? 9.30am or 6.30pm 16th June (Choose the time that suits you best) If you can't attend live, I will send out the recording. Overview: School librarians are working in a rapidly changing educational landscape—but awareness of change does not automatically lead to impact. Without clear direction, professional learning can remain disconnected from practice and from how the role is understood within schools. This is the final session in Engaging and Empowering School Libraries with Elizabeth Hutchinson. It focuses on helping school librarians move beyond reflection towards deliberate action, building on the concept of the reflective librarian and the professional learning explored throughout the series. Participants will consider the direction their practice is taking and the role they are actively shaping within teaching and learning. Drawing on frameworks such as IFLA and FOSIL, the session grounds future-focused thinking in established professional practice. Through structured reflection and discussion, participants will identify gaps between their current practice and their potential, define a clear area for development, and commit to a first step that creates visible change—whether through inquiry, collaboration, or their wider contribution to school priorities. This is a practical and challenging session designed to support school librarians in positioning themselves as educators, making their impact visible, and taking deliberate steps towards a future-ready role. To book this session, please click 'Book Now' and look for the 16th June.
