Overview: This practical online session explores how school librarians can move beyond a supportive role to become true learning coaches. By partnering with teachers as co-educators, librarians can embed inquiry, critical thinking, and information literacy into every subject area. Through a mix of strategies, examples, and interactive discussion, participants will gain the confidence and tools to initiate meaningful collaborations that make a lasting impact on teaching and learning. Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Recognise the librarian’s unique value as a learning coach within the classroom. Identify practical strategies for initiating co-teaching partnerships with subject teachers. Explore how to deepen these relationships through co-planning, co-teaching, and co-assessment. By the end of the session, you will: Have identified one teacher you can approach to begin or extend collaboration. Be equipped with conversation starters and first-step strategies that reduce teacher workload. Understand how to evidence the impact of librarian-teacher partnerships for students and leaders. 3 Key Takeaways: A clear understanding of moving from “support” to “co-teacher.” Practical strategies to start and strengthen teacher partnerships.
