When? 9.30am and 7pm 25th November (choose the time that suits you best) If you can't attend live I will send out the recording. Overview This hour-long session, which follows on from part 1 can be attended as a standalone, will help participants deepen their understanding of AI by exploring tools that can support their work as school librarians. Building on foundational AI literacy, the session will focus on critically evaluating AI tools, understanding their practical applications, and discussing their potential role in library workflows. Participants will leave equipped with a framework and resources to confidently experiment with AI tools in their professional environments. Learning Objective: By the end of the session, participants will: Understand how to evaluate AI tools critically using a practical framework that considers usability, accuracy, ethics, and more. Explore the practical applications of AI tools relevant to library tasks such as content creation and research support. Build confidence in experimenting with AI tools and integrating them into workflows responsibly and effectively. Three Key Takeaways: Framework for Evaluation: A clear, actionable method for assessing the strengths, weaknesses, and ethical implications of AI tools in any context. Real-World AI Applications: Insight into specific AI tools and how they can simplify or enhance library services, from recommending books, summarising articles and creating marketing content.
